After listening to the video clips My opinion is he sounds good but i dont like the way they have him dressed as if he came in from going shopping at hip hop 'r us to top it off his music video is so ridiculously "hiphop" even though he's singing Japanese enka music which is a traditional style of singing and they have him dancing hip hop style dance moves while ducking fitted caps whyyyy?? it just makes him seem like a dressed up, made up popstar hopefully he will get the chance to work with out being dressed and told how to act. Good luck jero I actually want you to succeed.
whats your opinion?
Below are video clips and articles I found online.

Well, at first glance... He's obviously very talented and true to the Enka tradition, but I feel he may have been whisked into that world and made into something of a novelty item. As far as reviving the Enka scene and making it more appealing to the youth culture. He has great potential, but they run the risk of plastering transparent stereo types and cliche's into an image as a desperate attempt at fast popularity.
ReplyDeleteI've seen countless times, an artist being to manufactured and burned out as as quick as they were built up.
I'm hoping that he eventually branches out and gains enough creative control to take a profound and genuine approach to his music, rather then being a gimmick draped in mismatched hood gear that he looks like he's not comfortable in.
I'd like to see him able to create something new and innovative. He has a beautiful voice and nice rhythm.
Sometimes it's worth it to take a risk. That can be the best way to win a loyal fan base who will stick with you, rather then the ones who turn they're backs when the novelty wears off.
